Englewood Real Estate

Homebuyers looking for that kick back low key Florida lifestyle should check out what Englewood offers. The original Olde Englewood Village downtown area on Dearborn Street is a charming walkable mixture of restaurants and cafes, shops, art galleries and boutiques that may remind you of an earlier time. The annual Pioneer Days parade and festival is a popular family event with lots of contests, entertainment, and lots of great food. The entire Englewood community gets involved to make it a great event!

Englewood History

Originally settled in 1878 as a fishing village on Lemon Bay, Englewood has plenty of opportunities for fishing, boating, and kayaking and viewing the wildlife including dolphins, manatees, and birds of all types.

Englewood Sun & Weather

In Englewood, the weather is tempered by breezes from the Gulf of Mexico so in summer it may be a bit cooler than some of the communities further inland. The temperature typically varies from 54°F to 89°F and is rarely below 41°F or above 92°F. Plus if it gets too warm you can always take a dip in the Gulf!

Englewood Sand & Beaches

A short drive from downtown over the causeway to the south end of Manasota Key takes you to Englewood Beach, a wide sandy place to take a dip in the Gulf. On the south end of the key is Stump Pass Beach State Park, with a mile of beach for swimming and shelling, and hiking trails with lots of wildlife viewing opportunities. You can also launch you kayak or canoe and explore several islands and possibly see manatees, dolphins, gopher tortoises and many of the area's magnificent bird population

There are several very popular Englewood restaurants and bars including the Waverly, Lock N Key, the Sandbar, and the White Elephant Pub where you can tie up your boat for a bite to eat while enjoying a day on the water. The White Elephant and the Sandbar also feature live music in the afternoons and evenings. Olde Englewood Village on Dearborn St also has some popular restaurants and bars as well where you can hang out with the locals.

Englewood Homes

Homes in Englewood tend to be among the most affordable in all of the Sarasota area with some single family homes priced from about $150K, and beachfront condos starting around $300K.
